The Founder

I'm Amber. I make candles in my converted garage.

I grew up on a quiet road in Greene County, the kind of road where the mailman knows your dog by name. Before Oshus, I worked sixteen years as a paralegal in Johnson City. The candles started as a way to keep my hands busy after my father passed in 2018. Six years and many thousands of jars later, this is what I do every day — and I'm grateful for it.

How We Work

Slow, small, and stubbornly honest.

Every Oshus candle is poured by hand in batches of forty or fewer. We use 100% American-grown soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks, and phthalate-free fragrance oils blended with essential oils. The jars are sourced from a glassworks in Ohio.

We don't release anything we wouldn't burn at home. Our seasonal scents change four times a year and we sell out — that's by design. Smaller batches mean fresher product and tighter quality control.

Orders ship from the workshop in Chuckey within two business days. Most arrive within a week, packed in recycled kraft paper with a hand-written thank-you tucked in the corner of the box.
